Valiant Breakthrough - End of Season Review by Matt Taylor

by Ashleigh Corbett on April 13, 2016

I became part of Panthera at the beginning of the season after receiving sponsorship. I had also just moved to Durham University to play hockey whilst still being at sixth form.

I’ve had a great season and have thoroughly enjoyed it; it was great for my development to be able to play at such a high level of hockey. Throughout the season I have attended NAGS Academy in Lilleshall and had a successful season playing for Durham University whilst continuing my studies in pursuit of elite level university hockey.

Every test I have put my Panthera stick through it has excelled and for me it is the best stick I have used. It turns heads wherever I go and most importantly I absolutely love playing with it.

The past season has been a great challenge with having to step up to such a high level of hockey and I needed a company who could support me with the right help and equipment; Panthera proved to be exactly what I was looking for their continued support throughout the season has ben a massive help and I have no doubts it has helped my development as a player significantly.

After finishing the season with both NAGS and Durham University it is clear for me that this has been the most successful season I have had as a player personally and I look forward to whatever challenges hockey brings me in the future.

In the upcoming months I look forward to the Mens County Championships where I hope we (Durham) can better last years runners up spot and go on to win the competition.

I hope to continuing to work with Panthera as I hopefully progress to Edinburgh University in September were I aim to continue my hockey career by playing in the Scottish National League Division 1. On top of this I aim to push selection for the u21 development squad.

Thanks

Matt Taylor
